Tech Tuesday: How to Change a Single Angle Side in Tekla Structures

For this week’s Tech Tuesday, we’re going to learn “How To: Change A Single Angle Side in Tekla Using Qnect.” Qnect makes it easy to change the side of a steel connection from one side to another. There are several reasons why this will need to be done but our focus today is the technology to make this happen easily. In this video, you will see how to use the Qnect Listener and the Tekla Structures UDA to make this process work.

Transcript:

I'll show you how to change the side the single angle.

Here this angle I want to change the side to the other side.

In order to do this I'm going to open the user-defined attributes (UDA).

Under the Qnect tab I'll go to the start end and I will change this from near side to far side and hit modify.

As you see here the [Qnect] Listener depicted the changes I will choose “Re-engineered by QuickQnect” which will upload the changes and download the new component automatically.

When I hit continue here I'll give the Session Name maybe seven and hit submit.

Now I will wait for the connection to be re-engineered and imported back again into the model.

Now it is importing a connection and as you see here side has been changed.

Thank you for watching.
