QuickQnect® Release Notes: January 2023

Feb 10, 2023 1:16:07 PM

Here are the updates completed in January.

1. Web-environment: There were incorrect weld access hole preferences at CISC. We added preferences to the weld access hole for CISC metric and AISC metric, shown below:

[QNT-8055]

2. Fixed down distance to hole.
    • For Distance Down to First Hole Controls, update these parameters:
      • min at support = kdetsup - encroach sup + edge distance
      • min at beam w/ cope  = cope depth + edge distance
      • min at beam w/o cope  = kdetfil - encroach + edge distance
    • Add what is shown in red:
      • min at support = kdetsup - encroach sup + edge distance
      • min at beam w/ cope = max(kdetfil–encroach fil, cope depth) + edge distance
      • min at beam w/o cope = kdetfil - encroach + edge distance
3. Updated functioning when OSHA and max bolt rows are on together.
  • JOB PREFERENCES:
    • After this question on the Minimum Job Requirements page:
      • Beam to beam with connections opposite of the web, at Double Angle or End Plate connections, please select order preference: ....
    • Add this question:
      • If OSHA “Drop Angle” or “Eliminate Top Right Bolt” is chosen along with a minimum number of rows preference = max number of rows that fit in beam web, can Qnect adjust the number of rows to = minimum rows - 1 to allow compatibility with OSHA “Drop Angle” or “Eliminate Top Right Bolt” preference? (Note: if "NO", these connections will not connect)
      • YES NO
  • ENGINEERING:
    • If min #rows preference is set to = max that fit n the beam on the forces page, and OSHA drop or eliminate is activated, and new question response is “NO”, functioning remains as it is today where connection is kicked out. Update to use following error message:
      • “Not connected due to incompatible user preferences of full bolt rows with OSHA “drop” or “eliminate” without user permission for minimum rows-1”
    • If min #rows preference is set to = max that fit  in beam, and OSHA drop or eliminate is activated, and new question response is “YES”, allow the connection with minimum number of rows-1 to allow OSHA drop or eliminate.
    • If min #rows preference is set to fill beam web at beam to spandrel beam connections, and OSHA drop or eliminate is activated, and new question response is “NO”, functioning remains as it is today where connection is allowed with minimum number of rows-1 to allow OSHA drop or eliminate.

4. Terms and Use has been updated.
